Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren

It was Ralph’s brother Jerry who changed their last name from Lishitz to Lauren. Since then, Ralph Lauren has become one of the most recognised names among the fashion industry. Born in The Bronx in 1939, Ralph Lauren never studied fashion. Everything he learned came from working as a salesman at Brooks Brothers, a casual and business clothing store, and Beau Brummell Neckwear, where he launched a highly successful necktie business that became known as Polo.

From there, Lauren expanded into men’s fashion, where he established is famous line of Polo clothing line for men and women. With his clothing brand a huge success, the designer went on to create his famous collection of Ralph Lauren colognes and perfumes. The first to hit the stands was his famous Polo men’s cologne. Following its success, a collection of Ralph Lauren perfumes was created for women.
